Simon Wareham

Owner & Lead Teacher

Piano, Vocal, Keyboard, Music Theory, Live sound & Events

Simon, our lead teacher, has been playing for nearly 40 years and both performing and teaching for over 30. Classically trained as a pianist and a Yamaha trained keyboard and synth player, Simon has played orchestral work and with live bands, from playing with the BBC orchestras, to currently performing with the most outrageous, fun and talented 80s showband in Wales, ReRun!

Simon was trained, qualified and started teaching in the Yamaha Music Schools, through the Royal School Of Music, for keyboard and Piano before going private teaching piano, keyboard and music theory, initially specialising in training advanced pianists from Grade 4 upwards, right up to concert pianists and training newly qualified and trainee teachers - something that Simon is still passionate about today. Later, Simon also took on new students as absolute beginners and began to develop his own teaching techniques to keep his teaching current in a more modern style. Simon has, in the past, created music tracks for record labels and composed music for performers from all over the UK.

Since AngleseyMusic started, Simon has added to his qualifications and started teaching vocal & musical performance for instrumentalists and singers wanting to move their ability into a live and performance setting, in music studios and onto stage. Simon has helped students into their own careers into music through the musical performance lessons.

For almost 25 years, Simon has been involved in organising and running music events and now is part of Philfest, running everything from the event planning, stage and sound, to sponsorship and media and has helped raise over £10k for charity over the last 2 years. Simon was also a part of TVWales and Holyhead festival, as well as helping to plan and run smaller concerts and festivals

With his own experience in playing huge festivals and concert halls to small, local venues, Simon is dedicated to making music fun, accessible to all, and keeping the high quality of skill required to play to your fullest of potential. Whether you are a new starter or an experienced pianist looking for a refresher course, from 3 years to 103 (and older!), we can make a lesson to suit you! Simon is also highly experienced in teaching people with ASD and additional educational needs.

Simon is the only ABRSM teacher assessor in the local area and brings a lot of years teaching experience into his lessons teaching piano, keyboard, music theory and performance. Open your musical world and tap the button below to book your slot.
